Golden Ragwort is a wonderful groundcover for sunny to mostly shade gardens. It spreads underground, forming colonies of yellow flowers in spring. Golden Ragowrt likes soil with some moisture. It’s a great plant for forest edges. It spreads pretty quickly, so make sure you plant it in an area where you don’t mind a spreading groundcover.

It can be a good plant choice for planting after buckthorn removal, because it will cover ground quickly. It might not be the most suitable choice for gardens where you don’t want a plant that spreads underground.

Great native plant choice for the Minnesota Lawns to Legumes grant program!
