Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia) 3-pack of pots

Harebell is tiny little flower but is stunning when planted in masses, providing blooms all summer long. It can handle both shade and sun, making it a versatile, easy to grow plant. The blue flowers provide a complimentary color to the pinks and yellows of summer-blooming wildflowers. It’s not necessarily a showy plant on its own, but when planted in bunches throughout a garden, it becomes a nice accent plant.

Harebell can be used on gardens borders or as a filler plant throughout a garden—filling in gaps between the taller flowers and grasses. It grows well on even poor, dry soils. We like to plant it in matrix garden designs with other short wildflowers, sedges, and grasses.

Also available in 12-packs of plugs here

Harebell is very short and looks great when planted in a mass on a slope. It spreads by seed but won’t smother other flowers and grasses. The very long flowering period adds a dashes of blue throughout the summer up until frost. Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia) looks great with other low-growing yellow, pink, and orange flowers.

Great native plant choice for the Minnesota Lawns to Legumes grant program!
