Blue Flag Iris is a true wetland plant that thrives in wet soil and even under water! This native flower grows especially well in rain gardens, shoreline restorations under up to 6 inches of water, and even pots that are placed in ponds. Blue Flag Iris can grow in soil with medium moisture, too. It spreads slowly to form dense clumps. The leaves are sword-like, towering over the shorter flowers. This is unlike the exotic irises, where the flowers are usually taller than the leaves.
