Grey Goldenrod is, in our opinion, the best native goldenrod for pollinator gardens. Unlike the other goldenrods that have a tendency to grow tall and spread, this shorter goldenrod usually stays in place.
Grey Goldenrod has bright yellow blooms and is a good companion to the pink flowered Blazing Stars, which bloom at the same time. In late summer, it gets covered with bees, providing a valuable source of pollen and nectar after the main summer flush of wildflowers are done blooming.
