Hoary Puccoon is a rare wildflower that blooms with yellow orange flowers in late spring. Finding Hoary Puccoon in the wild means that you are in an extremely high quality prairie. We are one of the only native plant nurseries where you can find Hoary Puccoon for sale, and like our other plants, we grow it in the greenhouse from seed. If planted well with some mulch and not too much water, these will bloom the season after planting! We also sell Fringed Puccoon, Wood Betony, and Snakeroot—three other hard-to-find prairie flowers.
FAQ:Is Hoary Puccoon hard to grow? Hoary Puccoon is easy to garden with—germinating the seed is the notoriously difficult part but we already have that covered! Once they are planted in the ground they are the same to grow as any other perennial. Just make sure to check the soil moisture and only water them when they need it—like most dry prairie plants, they don’t like soggy roots all summer.
